PRP for thinning hair,
made from your own blood.
PRP is one of the most asked-about hair loss options. It isn't right for every kind of hair loss, so the first step is finding out what's causing yours.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for hair uses a concentrated portion of your own blood to support thinning hair follicles. A small blood sample is drawn and prepared, then placed into the scalp where hair is thinning. It's one of several hair restoration options at PSRx, and whether it fits your hair loss is decided at consultation.

PRP for Hair Loss FAQ.
Does PRP for hair loss work?
PRP can help some people with thinning hair, especially when it's caught early and the follicles are still active. Results vary from person to person, and it doesn't work for every cause of hair loss. Your provider tells you honestly whether it's a good fit at consultation.
Does PRP hurt?
Most people feel some pressure and tenderness during scalp treatment, and the blood draw feels like a routine lab test. Your provider talks through ways to keep you comfortable. The scalp may feel sore for a day or so afterward.
How many PRP sessions will I need?
PRP is usually done as a series, followed by maintenance. The number of sessions and how they're spaced depends on your hair loss and how you respond, and your provider decides this with you at consultation. Your plan may change as your hair responds.
When will I see results from PRP?
Hair grows slowly, so most people need several months before they notice a change. Shedding may slow first, then thicker or new growth appears. Your provider tracks your progress at follow-ups. Photos help show changes that are hard to notice day to day, so we compare them over time.
Can PRP help thinning edges?
It may, if the follicles along your hairline are still active and the styling cause is addressed. Edges that have been thin for many years, or show signs of scarring, are harder to improve. Your provider examines your hairline at consultation.
Is PRP safe?
PRP uses your own blood, so allergic reactions are rare. Some people have tenderness, mild swelling or a headache afterward. It isn't recommended if you have certain blood disorders or take blood thinners, so your provider reviews your health history first.
