How to prepare for injectables
  • Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 5–7 days prior to reduce bruising risk
  • No alcohol for 24–48 hours before your appointment — alcohol increases bruising and swelling
  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face on the day of treatment
  • Do not schedule injectables within 2 weeks of a major event — allow time for swelling to resolve
  • Inform your provider of any herpes history if treating around the mouth — prophylactic treatment may be needed
  • Hydrate well in the days leading up to your appointment
After Your Appointment
What to expect post-treatment
  • Mild swelling, redness, and bruising at injection sites is normal and typically resolves within 3–7 days
  • Do not massage or apply pressure to treated areas for 24–48 hours post-injection
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and direct heat for 24 hours following treatment
  • Sleep with your head elevated the first night if treating the face to minimize swelling
  • Avoid facials, laser treatments, and chemical peels for 2 weeks post-injectables
  • Contact PSRx immediately if you experience any signs of vascular occlusion — blanching, severe pain, or skin discoloration

What to know
before you book.

How do I know which injectable is right for me?

That’s what the consultation is for. Your provider will assess your facial anatomy, discuss your goals, and recommend the appropriate treatment — or combination of treatments. You will never be pressured into a service at PSRx. If something isn’t right for you, we will tell you.

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal for most clients. Neuromodulators involve very fine needles and are well-tolerated. Filler injections may produce a brief pressure sensation. Topical numbing cream is available for sensitive areas. Most clients describe the experience as manageable and brief.

Can Botox and filler be done at the same appointment?

Yes, and this is often the most efficient approach. Your provider will determine sequencing based on your treatment plan. In many cases, neuromodulators and fillers complement each other and are planned as part of the same session.

What if I don’t like my results?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. Neuromodulators wear off naturally over 3–4 months. PRP results are gradual and subtle. Your provider will set clear expectations at consultation so you know exactly what outcome to expect before treatment begins.

How often do I need to come back?

Botox and Dysport typically last 3–4 months. Filler longevity varies from 6–18 months depending on the product and area. Your provider will build a maintenance schedule at your initial consultation so you are never guessing when to return.

Are injectables safe for all skin tones?

Yes. Injectable treatments are not inherently skin-tone-dependent the way laser treatments are. However, bruising may appear differently on darker skin tones and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a consideration for some clients. Your provider will discuss these factors during your consultation.
