Scar revision,
planned for every skin tone.
Scars are personal, and so is the plan to treat them. Darker skin is more likely to form raised scars and dark marks during healing, so scar care here starts with understanding your skin, not just the scar.
Scar revision uses in-office treatments to improve how a scar looks and feels. PSRx treats acne scars, surgical scars like C-section and tummy tuck scars, injury scars, raised scars and keloids, and stretch marks. Every plan is built for the scar type and your skin tone. Scars can be significantly improved, though most won't fully disappear.

Scar Revision FAQ.
Can scars be removed completely?
Most scars can't be removed completely, but many can be significantly improved in texture, color and how noticeable they are. How much a scar improves depends on its type, age and location, and on your skin. We set realistic expectations at consultation before you start any treatment.
What's the best scar treatment for dark skin?
The best treatment depends on the scar type, but on darker skin the safest plans favor treatments that spare surface pigment and are paced carefully. Stronger resurfacing can still be used with expert care. PSRx builds every scar plan around your Fitzpatrick type and screens for keloid risk first.
Why are raised scars more common in darker skin?
Raised scars and keloids form when the skin makes too much collagen while it heals, and this tendency is more common in Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin. Genetics also play a role, so a family history matters. That's why we ask about keloids before any treatment that could cause new injury to the skin.
How old does a scar need to be before treatment?
It depends on the scar and how it was caused. Surgical and injury scars need to be fully healed first, and surgical scars may need your surgeon's clearance. Your provider will look at your scar and talk through the right timing with you at consultation.
Will scar treatment leave dark marks on my skin?
Any treatment that injures the skin can trigger dark marks on darker skin, which is why scar plans at PSRx are paced carefully and include prep and aftercare. Choosing treatments that suit your skin type lowers the risk, and any marks that do appear usually fade with care.
Do I need a consultation for scar revision?
Yes. Every scar plan starts with a consultation so we can assess the scar, your skin type and your healing history. Consultations are paid, and they're where we decide which treatments fit your scar and set expectations for the result.
