Stretch marks,
smoother and less noticeable.
Stretch marks are common and completely normal, but you don't have to love them. The right plan can soften their texture and blend their color, and on darker skin, it has to do that without creating new dark marks.
Stretch marks are a form of scarring that happens when skin stretches quickly, like during pregnancy, growth spurts or weight changes. Newer marks are red or purple, and older marks are white or silver. PSRx treats them with options chosen for the mark's age and your skin type. Treatment can improve texture and color, though it won't make them disappear.
Not all stretch marks
respond the same way.
The color of a stretch mark tells us how old it is, and that changes which treatments work best.

- ✦Sessions are paced so skin fully recovers between treatments.
- ✦Prep and aftercare include steps that lower the risk of dark patches.
- ✦We train and certify other providers in laser care for Fitzpatrick I–VI.

Stretch Marks & Skin Texture FAQ.
Can stretch marks be removed?
Stretch marks can't be fully removed, but treatment can make them smoother, flatter and less noticeable. Newer red or purple marks usually respond better than older white or silver ones. We set realistic expectations at consultation based on your marks and your skin.
What's the best treatment for stretch marks on dark skin?
On darker skin, the best treatments improve texture while protecting your natural pigment. Collagen-stimulating options are often part of the plan, and stronger resurfacing is used with care. PSRx chooses treatments based on the age of your marks and your Fitzpatrick type.
Do new stretch marks respond better to treatment?
Yes, newer stretch marks that are still red, pink or purple usually respond better than older white or silver marks. That doesn't mean older marks can't improve. Texture can still be softened, so it's worth an assessment no matter how long you've had them.
Can I treat stretch marks after pregnancy?
Yes, many people treat stretch marks after pregnancy, and newer marks often respond well. If you're still breastfeeding, tell your provider, because it can affect which treatments are appropriate and when to start. We'll plan the right timing for you together at consultation.
Why are my stretch marks darker than my skin?
On melanin-rich skin, stretch marks can look darker than the surrounding skin, especially while they're newer or after sun exposure. This is part of how darker skin responds to injury. Treatment for darker marks has to be gentle so it doesn't add more pigment.
How many sessions do stretch marks need?
Most people need a series of treatments, and the number depends on how many marks you have, how old they are and your skin type. Your provider will estimate a plan for you at consultation and adjust it as your skin responds.
