Tattoo removal that stalled,
looked at with fresh eyes.
If removal elsewhere didn't go as planned, you're not starting over, but you do need a careful look. The skin's history shapes what comes next.
A previously treated tattoo is one where removal started somewhere else but stalled, faded unevenly, or left scarring, texture changes, or light or dark patches. PSRx assesses the skin first and plans around any damage before more removal. Some tattoos can still be cleared further, and your provider tells you honestly what's realistic at consultation.
Where past removal
went off track.
Most people come to us with one or more of these. Each one changes how your plan is built.
If your skin is still healing from a past treatment, we'll wait until it has fully recovered before planning more removal.
Who it's for —
and who it isn’t.
Your provider confirms what's right for you at your consultation.
We look closely
before we treat.
Before more removal, your provider looks at the skin as closely as the ink.
Tattoo removal on darker skin

Previously Treated Tattoos FAQ.
Can you fix a tattoo removal that went wrong?
Often, yes. Stalled fading, uneven results and light or dark patches can usually be improved, though scarring may need its own plan. Your provider looks at your skin and the remaining ink first, then tells you honestly what can be improved at consultation.
Why did my tattoo stop fading?
Fading can stall because of stubborn colors, dense or layered ink, settings that didn't suit the ink or skin, or sessions spaced too closely. A fresh assessment helps figure out why, and your provider plans the next steps around what's left.
My skin got lighter after tattoo removal. Will it go back?
Light patches after removal often improve over months as your skin recovers, though some take longer. Your provider checks the area and may recommend waiting before more treatment. Protecting the area from the sun helps your skin even out. Your provider tracks the change at each visit.
How long should I wait after treatment somewhere else?
Your skin should be fully healed before more removal, and more time may be needed if you have patches or texture changes. Your provider checks your skin at consultation and tells you when it's ready for the next session. Rushing back in can make patches worse.
Can scarring from tattoo removal be treated?
Scarring after tattoo removal can often be improved, though most scars won't disappear completely. Your provider assesses the scar, your skin type and keloid history, then talks through options at consultation. Scar care may come before or alongside more removal.
